How I Became an Entrepreneur
“Entrepreneur” sounds fancy, right?
But in reality? My journey started with panic, uncertainty, and zero backup plan.
I spent over a decade as a risk analyst in a corporate role that checked all the boxes—stability, benefits, a clear career path. But ironically, my future was always at the mercy of management. And deep down? I had no interest in climbing the corporate ladder.
Then, before I could overthink my next move… I quit.
No savings. No backup income. No safety net.
I had a two-week family road trip coming up—already booked and paid for. But instead of relaxing, I was glued to LinkedIn, frantically searching for remote jobs, freelance gigs, anything that would bring in money.
Nothing clicked. I was burnt out, mentally drained, and completely lost.
Then, I stumbled upon something familiar.
A post that claimed: “All you need is a phone, WiFi, and a few hours a day.”
I had seen it before and ignored it. But this time? I paid attention.
Of course, I hesitated. Who wouldn’t? But when I thought about it logically—“If I make just one sale, I’ll recover my investment”—I realized I had nothing to lose.
To be honest? It wasn’t easy.
Starting from scratch felt like showing up to work on your first day—except there was no boss, no training manual, and no idea where to begin.
I had no content creation background—I was a consumer, not a creator.
I had no audience, no engagement, no clue where to start.
But I was determined.
I immersed myself in learning, tested different strategies, failed, and tweaked my approach along the way.
And if you’re thinking, “Maybe I’m just not cut out for this,” trust me—I had that thought, too.
Here’s what I learned that might make your journey easier:
1. You don’t have to go all in.
MRR courses were trending, but diving in felt overwhelming. If you’re starting out? Start small. Test the waters before taking the plunge.
2. Learn first, buy later.
Every course looks like the answer. I’ve been there—don’t let the FOMO drain your wallet. Learn first, buy later.
3. Be patient. Trust the process.
Some people hit their first sale overnight. Others take months. Either way? The only way to fail is to stop.
🚨 Don’t get discouraged. The rewards will come.
